Please Sign Up Now for Tomorrow’s League Meet
Hi Swim Families,
 
I was just checking the sign-up sheet for the Summer League meet tomorrow (July 2) at Bradford Swim Club, and it is pretty light. Warm-ups are at 3:30 p.m., and the meet starts at 4.
 
In the past, we haven’t had you use the online meet sign-ups for Summer League meets, but different coaches will be seeding different meets this year, and this is the best way we can ensure that the right people know who to expect at each meet.
 
For those of you who haven’t signed up through the team website (www.anahurricanes.com), you can find the sign-up sheet under the “Schedules” sub-head. Select “Meet and Volunteer sign-up,” and there you will be able to sign up your swimmers for all our upcoming meets.
 
First-time users will be guided through a pretty straightforward start-up process, which I had to do last fall and remember as being surprisingly easy.

The deadline for signing up for Wednesday’s meet is TODAY, JULY 1, at 11 p.m. But as the coach responsible for seeding this meet, I’d like to ask you to register as soon as you can, so I don’t wind up with a glut of late-night entries to complete! A Note for Parents: Because ANA does not host any of the Summer League meets, the host teams will ask us to assist with timing, so please step up and volunteer when you arrive at each meet.

Note: Our team has been asked to bring enough whipped cream for 250 swimmers for an ice cream social following the meet. It would be great if the parents of swimmers competing in this meet could organize this so the coaches can concentrate on your kids.

Reminder: Holiday Weekend Practice Schedule
All practices are cancelled on Friday, July 4, because the ANA YMCA is closed for the holiday.
 
Also, there will be no practice on Saturday, July 5, for all practice groups EXCEPT for swimmers in the Senior, Junior 2 and National groups, who will practice as scheduled.
 
 
Lost and Found
If you want to post something in this section of the Hurricane Watch, please include in your e-mail to Karen Bailey (karen.bailey@tufts.edu) a description of the lost item(s), the owner’s name and contact e-mail and phone number and the date and place it was lost.
 
When your item has been found, please e-mail Karen so she can remove it from the “Lost and Found” list.
 
Here’s what’s missing:
On June 28, Nina Mazzarelli had her cell phone taken out of her YMCA swim bag, which was in a locker at the ANA YMCA. While waiting for her ride home, she went into her bag to make a call and discovered it was gone. It was a pink “KATANA” Sprint cell phone. With a couple of clicks of the mouse, families have a resource available to them 24/7.
